Creative Critical Reflection Update

Image
I have begun to work on my Creative Critical Reflection. As mentioned previously I wanted to focus on a video essay style. With this approach I feel like I'm best able to engage with the audience as best as possible. Showing my face and going through my own way of presenting. Just like it would be as if everyone were in person. Through this approach I hope to achieve an egaging performance that keep people listening and attentive. I still have a few things I'm trying to work out but I will make sure to tie up the loose ends in the coming days.

Final Cut Comparison Part 2

Image
Catch me if you can is one of my favorite movies, while quite simple it was unique and creative take on crime. This movie plays into the animation and drawing title scenes. In my own presentation we almost created a whole quick movie into just 2 minutes. It was very crammed and felt rushed. This nice portralial of visuals acclimated well with the theme of the movie. I feel like in our production we layed a lot of focus on creating more a cinematic experience which took away from the whole focus of the titles. Catch me if you can does a great job at keeping the focus on what is important and keeping the audience intertained. This take compared to se7en is creative because its not real life. Its drawn/animated images which is a different take and it worked at really well.

Final Cut Comparison Part 1

Se7en was in line with the genre of my own production. The genre was crime and it had some very notable title sequences and a different approach to the matter than my team and I. For example I'll reelaberate on what exactly happened in our own production. Partly due to us and myself included not exactly understanding the task at hand was to put our main focus on these title scenes is we didn't put enough emphasis around it. I feel like in our production we layed a lot of focus on creating more a cinematic experience which took away from the whole focus of the titles. Se7en did a really good job. I took away from the visual experience as a whole to create focus around the text that was appearing on the screen. Se7en does a good job as setting the standard and something that I can look up to and work to improve on.

CCR Script

CCR Script Blog Post ________________________________________________________________ This would cover the Interview. How do your products use or challenge conventions and how do they represent social groups or issues?      My product didnt exactly challenge conventions. I feel like to be in the best position to challenge a convention you should first be expericed with the materical itself. In this case i decied to go along with the conventions to give my self guide rails and figure out where I needed to go. I wanted to follow crime conventions and stick to what attributes contribute to making them unique. How do your products engage with the audience and how would they be distributed as real media products?      My project engaged with audience but making relatablity its prime focus. I always felt that something you could connect with on a personal level is the best way to connect and build that bridge between the media and the audicence. Giving someone so...

Opening Sequence Peer Review

Image
THE VIDEO I REVIEWED I think that this video was collectively well put together and you can you tell the effort that was put in. For starters the creative layout of scenes, not only did you have a variety on new scenes but you well decorated them. For the opening scene the papers all over the wall are a great example of that creative touch. The title scenes and or text layovers were great to, it wasn't some crazy font or color it was seamless and fit well into the video. A huge compliment I'd like to give was the transition from the actor's face into the missing poster, it just made sense and was well implemented. A great video comes from not doing anything way over the top and sticking to what your strong at doing and I think you were able to accomplish that. The genre is quite clear from the audio in the beginning and the use of dark scenes. Overall great job. Constructive criticism is hard to give especially when the only type of media we consume on a daily basis is tha...

Film Analysis Part 1

Image
As the statement goes less is more and with the quiet place the presentation of the opening scene was so amazing because it lacked dialoge making the viewer listen in and focus more, will get into this later. My genre for my project is horror/crime and with this I decieded to choose a quite place to represent an idea of a great opening scene. I will admit originally I only picked a quite place just off the name alone, it sounded scary but also because of what I've heard from friends who have seen the film. After watching just the opening I myself will be watching the movie soon too. Lets break it down. M ise en scene, that overall look and feel of the movie, from the title alone it was a giveaway at the no talking however the actual implimentation of it was tremendous. We have five senses in real life, touch, smell, sight, taste, and sound. You cant exactly touch, smell or, taste a movie. Traditonally leaving you with just the viewing of a movie and audio. While not taking away th...

Rough Cut 2

Image
Nothing huge to contribute to this second Rough Cut. To be quite frank my group members and I recored and edited as quickly as possible partly because I as the editor thought the due date was much sooner than stated. However this has continued to allow my group and I to speak with other groups and share are video. We like to talk to who we share the video to and see if they can determine the genre we filmed and things they think we could improve on or rerarage. As there is some time still left we are just wrapping up the finial loose end. I wasn't able to change much other than cut the audio and remove the rolled credits. Im going to finish incorpirating a better implimentation of the title scenes later this afternoon.

Media Reflection #5

At this point in the course I have been around enough and been exposed to enough material to begin to understand and compose somewhat a educated perspective on a couple of different questions/topics I've discussed previously on my blog. The difference is now I will be giving my opoinion supported with everything I know now which I was missing just entering the course. To begin the responsibilities of creators with respect to representations of groups in their films. If I remember correctly in short I answered this by saying should be the creators responsibilities to represent cultural groups correctly in thing like documentaries or even just in general, however I stated that their should be an exception for things like comedies and entertainment. I still stand by this thought. This is because a huge plethra of movies have been made with certain culturals or ethnicitys as the subject or core of the film. Such as Moana, in this type of movie chattered towards children and familes I ...

Creative Critical Reflection Research Blog Posts Approach 2

Image
For approach two, I would like to produce a interview. To start I would need to choose a subject, in my head I would like to have a collage of interviews all surrounded by a theme. Growing up I loved to read who was books and I also take an intrest in my family tree so I would like to interview my family and their story on how they got to where they are today. For this specific interview I will choose my aunt and follow her story. While we already have a rapport, to actively engage in the interview we will open the air to allow for comfort. I have a planned sheet of questions I would like to focus on and will stick to the questions for the integrality and valitdy of the interview. I will try to format it the best way possilbe to establish a timeline and be easy to follow as the listener. Im going to focus on what they have created and in a way clone that who was style type of book and producing it into a digital media volume.

Creative Critical Reflection Research Blog Posts Approach 1

Image
For approach one to cover the four main questions, I will be choosing the video essay. This is for a few different reasons the most oblivious is that its the most comfortable. Secondly I feel like I can be the most professional on this platform and take adventurous of the digital edge. Being able to speak and have digital graphics to aid me in answering the questions will allow to expand upon ideas and connect to the listener. Though I cant say I have fully planned out my whole idea currently I would like structure it introducing my product and focusing on engagement. I don't want to sound monotone so I will make sure my speech is adequate enough to listen to for a prolong period. I will focus on my pace to keep up with engagement and not lose my audience. Because I have accesss to the technology such as a laptop in the video essay, I will be focusing on the questions 3 and 4. I know I mentioned I wanted to focus on engaement which will still be a point of emphasis however I feel ...

Production Update #2

Image
As of today 3/2/25 I will be updating you on where me and my group are at currently with our media production project. As mentioned previously we have already filmed everything for the most part. Now I will say we did quickly edit and coordinate the clips together pretty quickly which is nice because it has allowed us time to nit pick and critique the project just a little extra. With time to spare we ended up editing and be overall happy with the finished product we filmed. However I have to mention currently the only thing I'm struggling with is incorporating the credits into the film. We also didn't quite plan or for a lack of better words film filler clips. I may head back out to Dade city to collect a few more clips to make it seem more natural instead of trying to cram the titles over important scenes. Currently as is, the video edited stands at around a minute and fifth teen seconds, so we definitely have a good buffer zone to fill in and make the title/credits seem mor...
