Genre conventions are the story line characters the theme basic features of a given genre things used to identify the genres for example stars. All these can help us as the viewers depict what the genre is. This can also help outline a film during the filmmaking process, this is because for things like a horror movie you as the director want to make sure you don’t deviate to far from the genre and audience you are trying to appeal to. I am most interested in learning the horror conventions just because I feel that they are such a staple to movie making in general. For the future and my later project I am going to look into key conventions that are most recognizable to a genre to make sure that my point gets across.
Production, Distribution, and Exhibition Blog Post
For the production of our final project I would like to keep it small scale. Going this route allows my team and I to be able to have more flexibility and have the freedom of producing to a niche market. With that being said it should come to no surprise we will go with a independent financing scheme. As we are only high school students anything were going to produce we would like to have control over it rather then someone else having a say in our vision because they put money into it, when it comes to this type of thing we definitely like the creative control. As for who would star in our film, it will definitely be a collaborative effort into fitting the roles. At this point in time it would be me and my friends in class and outside of class if needed more cast members. When we go to shoot obviously we would like to produce something that is not only our vision for the project but is visually appealing.
