Media Reflection 2

 As I’ve entered the begging of the seconded quarter I’ve come to know where I stand from a technical standpoint with film making skills. We can all agree that the most important skills to make sure you have in top shape would be,  using a camera, setting up a scene, and editing. With confidence I can fairly say that I have good editing skills. I’ve worked in the past with editing photos and somewhat helping other people take this media class with their  projects and observing how they went about things. As for using a camera it’s like two different worlds when it comes to taking a picture and recording a video. A picture in my experience is much much easier than that of recording a video. For one my storyboard for a picture would be much simpler and less time consuming to construct and integrate into real life, where as in a video the period of time I need to throughly go about creating a storyboard or even handling the camera with lighting and different cuts of shots is...

Media Reflection 1

At the beginning of course I never gave media any thought. It was alway just face value to me, what I saw on the screen was what it was and that was it. However since the development of the course has picked up pace it’s slowly started to change my comprehension and the way I view media entirely. Not just my view on media but when I consume media I’ve actually caught myself analyzing the detail more and appreciating some of the works a little more than I used to. Before I used to think making a short film would be quick and easy, quickly I found out how quality takes time and there are even individuals who have just one job to make sure one small aspect is covered. I always skipped the credits because it was the long boring part at the end of the movie although currently I’m not yet at the point to sit through and read every single name I have grown to share appreciation towards those who put so much effort into the movie.
