Media Reflection 2
As I’ve entered the begging of the seconded quarter I’ve come to know where I stand from a technical standpoint with film making skills. We can all agree that the most important skills to make sure you have in top shape would be, using a camera, setting up a scene, and editing. With confidence I can fairly say that I have good editing skills. I’ve worked in the past with editing photos and somewhat helping other people take this media class with their projects and observing how they went about things. As for using a camera it’s like two different worlds when it comes to taking a picture and recording a video. A picture in my experience is much much easier than that of recording a video. For one my storyboard for a picture would be much simpler and less time consuming to construct and integrate into real life, where as in a video the period of time I need to throughly go about creating a storyboard or even handling the camera with lighting and different cuts of shots is definitely a weakness that I would like to improve on. Setting a scene is also another aspect in filmmaking I not only need to improve on but need to expand my knowledge on.
At this point in time I feel like I could definitely create a video but I would not have high expectations for the outcome. I fully believe in developing skills comes from experience and actually earned while creating. So I’m excited to begin to make films and learn through trials and error to expand my knowledge and create something I’m proud to present.
